The On-Line Instructor's Manual contains content related to the textbook Personality: A Systems Approach. In places, the manual also contains my thoughts and observations about classroom instruction and how I teach.
Regarding this latter material (my thoughts on teaching), I am an experienced instructor, but I do not consider myself an expert in classroom teaching. That is, many of my colleagues here and elsewhere conduct classroom research, work as teacher trainers, and have overall greater expertise in classroom leadership. To see some of their writing, you can try these websites as examples (and many others):
- University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill
- University of Hawaii, Honolulu
- Univeristy of New Hampshire, Durham
I write about my own teaching experiences and thoughts about the classroom in the hope that they may be helpful to others, as well as to help think through my own in-class work, and to make the web site a bit more personal.
I expect that experienced professors who find an idea or suggestion of value most likely will modify it for their own use so that it fits their own teaching style. If you are a new instructor, you probably will want to consider how to fit the idea into your own style as well.
